HIMSS will bring together healthcare leaders, clinicians, policymakers and industry experts for the third edition of the HIMSS UK Digital Maturity Forum on 8 October, 2026, at Imperial College London. Held in partnership with Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Health Beyond Hospitals is a high-profile one-day event focused on how health and care services can be redesigned to support underserved populations better.

Healthcare systems across the UK are under increasing pressure to deliver more accessible, sustainable and patient-centred services. There is a policy-mandated shift away from traditional hospital-based care toward digitally enabled and community-focused models, driven by the NHS 10-Year Health Plan, the Medium-Term Planning Framework and the ICB strategic commissioning mandate.

The day will explore how integrated care models can reduce pressure on acute services, whilst improving equity, outcomes and patient experience. The programme offers an offsite hospital tour to the operations room, coordinating virtual ward services and remote patient monitoring at NHS St Charles Hospital. The forum will provide an opportunity for senior leaders to exchange insights and discuss how digital innovation can help create more accessible care beyond hospitals.

Attendees can expect thought leadership and real-world examples from Thames Valley and Surrey Care Records Partnership, East London NHS Foundation Trust and Guys & St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. Speakers also include Helen Balsdon, National CNIO, NHS England and Dr. Amanda Brown, former general practitioner of Her Majesty's Prison Bronzefield and author of The Prison Doctor.
